Bruce started his aviation career as P-3/C-130 engine mechanic while serving in the US Navy. After his military service he spent the next 40 years gaining aviation experience in aviation program management within both the civil and government sector for operations, safety and maintenance; with over 8,800 hours of pilot-in-command experience. His piloting experience includes conducting on-demand charter, Emergency Medical Services, flight instruction, initial attack/firefighting operations, helicopter Class B and C vertical reference external load operations, helicopter Class B human external cargo operations, transmission power line patrol and construction, domestic and international portable oil exploration (seismic) operations; with the majority of these operations conducted in mountainous terrain and high altitude operations.
In his career he has been a FAA Designated Check Airman, Chief Pilot (Part 133 and 135 operations) and Director of Operations for commercial operations conducted under Part 135. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot rating Airplane, Commercial pilot rating in Rotorcraft and Airplane, Certified Flight Instructor rating - Rotorcraft, Flight Engineer rating (B-727) and Airframe and Power Plant Certificates.
In addition to his flight and maintenance experience he went on to continue his education and gained experience in aircraft accident and incident investigation with certifications by the Department of Energy and National Transportation Safety Board in Accident Investigation, Aircraft Accident Investigation, and Helicopter Accident Investigation. He has demonstrated business management experience with emphasis on implementing an integrated safety management system, and compliance based flight operations and maintenance.
